Membership Application

We welcome your application to become a member of the APA. A brief summary of our application process is provided here. For more detailed information please see our "How to Join" page.

Membership Application Summary

1. Complete the online Membership Application form - see below.
2. You can pay online by credit card or you can mail a cheque or money order to our membership director.
3. A copy of your CV/resume of experience and/or certificate of liaison training must be mailed or emailed (PDF format).
4. Proof of Active Archaeological Licence must be included (in PDF format if emailed) for those applying for Field Director and Professional levels.


If you are applying for Professional or Field Director membership, the name and contact information of a reference from someone who holds a Professional archaeological license who can speak to the candidate's credentials must be included with your application materials.

If you are applying for First Nations Consultation Staff membership, please provide documentation that demonstrates your full time employment by an Ontario First Nation in a position relating to archaeological issues.  For First Nations Liaison membership, please provide documentation that you have successfully completed a minimum of three weeks of archaeological field training, one week of in-class academic training in archaeology, and one week of First Nation cultural sensitivity training.  Applicants who have been fulfilling the role of archaeological monitor/liaison for their community for an extended or intensive period of time may also apply for this membership category.  This training or experience must be documented by a certificate of course completion and/or a letter of authentication.

For those applying for the Student level, please mail a photocopy or email (PDF format) a copy of your current student ID card or indicate with your application your affiliated institution and student number.

Notes about Online Application

Online Payment

For Online Payment, you will be directed to PayPal after you complete the online application below. You can login to PayPal if you have an account. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card via PayPal. See the link at the bottom left of the PayPal screen for options to pay by credit card without logging in to PayPal.

Photo

You will have the option of uploading an image of your logo or business card as part of the online application. (Image Size=110px x 110px). You can also add this later once your membership profile has been setup on our website. Only APA members will have to option to display this image on the site.

Your Online Membership Profile

Once you become a member of APA, you will have an online profile page on this website. You will have the ability to modify any of the information in your profile. You can change the privacy settings for any of the information contained in your profile.

Membership Discount

With the recent growth of companies, it has come to APA’s attention that there is room for membership discounts. Therefore, the APA executive now grants a 20% discount to archaeological firms or other organizations that apply for more than one 1-year membership at the Professional, Field Director, First Nations Consultation Staff, First Nations Liaison and/or Associate membership levels.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE YOUR ORGANIZATION MEMBERS TO OBTAIN THIS DISCOUNT, PLEASE CONTACT OUR APA MEMBERSHIP DIRECTOR (SEE BELOW) BEFORE MEMBERS COMPLETE THE APPLICATION.

Please provide a list of names and membership category for each member applying. Once it is verified that at least one colleague is an active member, the 20% discount for a 1-year membership will be available to you.  If paying on-line, the 20% will be refunded to you, and if paying by cheque you would make the cheque out for the appropriate 1-year fee amount less 20%.  If you have additional questions, please contact our Membership Director.  Note that all 3-year memberships already include the 20% discount in the fee amounts.
