APA members and other licenced archaeologists are continuing to communicate the need for guidance in order to meaningfully fulfil their obligations regarding Aboriginal Engagement. This workshop is designed to provide a forum for discussion utilizing a panel approach. Juli Abouchar, legal counsel at Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP will present current understandings of the triggers for Aboriginal engagement, and the roles and responsibilities for the Crown, proponents and archaeologists. Other panellists will include APA members willing to share their project case studies for discussion.
